Obituary of Bernard (Ben) Lewis Schwartz

Bernard (Ben) Lewis Schwartz, 76, died suddenly on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at home with his beloved wife Patricia (Pat) Schwartz by his side. Ben was born October 8, 1940 in Thorne, Quebec to the late Selma Bretzlaff and the late Louis Schwartz. Ben worked for many years in various trades until his retirement from Consolidated Bathurst, Braeside in 1992. Predeceased by first wife Diane Schwartz (nee Ayotte) and granddaughter Ashley Eastman. Ben leaves behind his cherished brother Wayne Bretzlaff, six loving daughters, Cheryl (Tom Bourke), Joanne (Mike Gilmour), Deborah (Ellard Rueckwald), Bonnie (Robert Campbell), Tracey (Mike White) and Pamela (Dan Miner) as well as stepchildren Robert, Brent (Linda), Tammy (Dean Robinson), and Scott (Cheryl). He also leaves many adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. .  Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre St, Shawville, Quebec on Sunday,June 18, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service in Zion Lutheran Church, Schwartz, Quebec on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery.  Donations to CHEO in honour of Ashley Eastman granddaughter of Ben or the Zion Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
