Obituary of Ronald Cyril Desabrais

In hospital, Shawville, Quebec on April 29, 2017, Ronald joined his beloved Madeline (nee Presley), aged 81 years.  He spent his last days surrounded by his loving children and their spouses, Lee (Susan), Brent (Kathy) and Bonnie (Claude) and also with his grandchildren, Stephen (Cheryl), Tim (Roslyn), Melissa (Martin), Carine (Rob),Hailey, CJ and predeceased by grandson Derek. Ronnie was proud “Old Grandpa” to his great grandchildren Nathan, Liam, Zachary, Emma, Alexander, Adam and Lea.  He was comforted by the company of his brother Kenneth (Suzanne), brothers-in-law Ray Presley (Donna), Gilly Presley (Gail) and Marcel Dufault and his many nieces, nephews and friends who spent time with him during his illness.  Ronnie is predeceased by his parents, Rose Trudeau and Adelore Desabrais, his brother Marcel and sister Claudette.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Shawville Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit for making his last days painless and peaceful.  Thank-you also to the staff of the CLSC who provided excellent emergency care.  Special thanks to his respiratory therapist, Ali Lewis.  Ron was a gifted musician, playing fiddle and guitar around the Pontiac and for family and friends in years past and spent his spare time with his family enjoying life at the lake.  His lively commentary during Montreal Canadiens games will always be remembered.  Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 9-10 a.m.  Funeral  Friday, May 5, 2017 to St. Charles Borromeo Church, Otter Lake, Quebec for Mass at 11 a.m.  Interment Parish Cemetery.  Donations to Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care would be appreciated.
