My sincere sympathy to Martha, Mary Lou, Neil and Hillis' Family. Hillis has been a dear friend all of my life. We both grew up on Dairy Farms on the 7th Line. Mother trusted us to go to Top Hat with Hillis and Graham. When I went to Shawville and attended church we knew Hillis would be there. He would tell me about Graham and his Family. Hillis was not only a dairy farmer he was also a Giant Pumpkin Grower. Andre enjoyed visiting Hillis' garden to learn more of the tricks of growing a giant pumpkin. Father was so proud when Hillis joined Rotary. Hillis was invited to golf with the Kousins Golf Tournament. It was another great place for a visit. Hillis and Martha were excellent Golfers. I respected Hillis as did anyone who ever knew him. Hillis was "salt of the earth". Today is a very sad day. I just thought my friend Hillis would always be there. Rest in peace Hillis. Blessings

Jodi and I are so saddened to hear of the loss of Hillis.
Our sincere Condolences to his family from ours.
He was such a gentleman and kind soul, and is such a loss for the community.
We have not known him long, but he had such a positive impact on us when he came to golf and/or eat at our Golf Course as he was always such a pleasure to talk to. He will be missed by us at the Norway Bay GC at Astra Estates, and will no doubt also be missed by the entire Men's League, which he was such a big part of.

Hillis was my mentor, my boss, my friend. I had the privilege of working for Hillis for a few years as a young lad while going to school. He shared his wisdom, his knowledge and his patience with me. He taught me how to work hard all day, every day. He was a big part in making me the man I am today. Thank you Hillis.

Sorry to hear of Hillis' passing. I met Hillis through our mutual golfing friends about 30 years ago. He was always a gentleman with a warm smile. He loved the game that we both started later in life. I played with Hillis when he was a member in Cobden and after he left, we still got together for games in Malone, NY and winter games in Florida. He always loved telling and hearing a good joke. May he rest in peace. I'm sure he has already contacted Pat Moorhead for a game in heaven !!!!!

To Hillis' family and Martha:
I was saddened to learn of Hillis' passing. Hillis was a member of the Board of Directors of the Pontiac Reception Centre Foundation (CAP), since 2017, and just retired last year, as he was having difficulties with his hearing. He was an active participant on the Board and helped us so much with our fundraising efforts. He had a great personality, loved a good joke, and we were honoured to have him as a member. I hope there is a good golf course in Heaven, because Hillis sure loved his golf! RIP Hillis. You will be missed.
Sincerely,
Katharine Hayes Summerfield
President
Pontiac Reception Centre Foundation (CAP)
