To David and Ute family,
Dear David, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mother. She was a special woman and I’m sure you and the families will miss her.
I have many happy memories of our times together. I will never forget the time
when we (Ute and myself) were coming the first time to Shawville, Canada.
Elsie welcomed us into her home and made us feel at home. She was full of love and had the gift of hospitality. I remember great pies (pumpkin & pecan!) and very tasteful food we got to eat.
Even her love to her fashion store, she did it all with dedication. There was always a sweet, peaceful atmosphere in her home. She was a woman of faith and a prayer warrior. Though I didn’t see her so often, she was always interested in other people and how they were doing. She was a special woman, loved by so many.
Cathy and Steven with your family, though we haven’t had so much contact, I’m sure you have many fond memories of your mother and life together over the years.
From the Scriptures we know there is a life beyond this present one where there will be no more pain nor tears. Believers in the death and resurrection of Christ know there is more that we now see and know.
May the Lord comfort you. I am sure she will be missed by all.

To Steve, Judy and family: I was so sorry to hear about Elsie's passing. I often remember taking Marion up to her place, along with Polly, with a trunk full of items for Elsie's annual garage sale!!! Whenever Polly and I were in Shawville, Otto and Elsie always way over fed us and surrounded us with Christ's love. I imagine Elsie and Marion trying to run garage sales in Heaven and laughing so much! Elsie truly lived the life of a wonderful and committed Christian, showing love to all that crossed her path. One day we will once again be reunited!

Dear family,
What a wonderful tribute to your mother.
Away back when....
I remember Elsie because the Alex and Emma Lathem family
farmed right across the road from us at Caldwell. Our families
neighboured back & forth all the time. Elsie's mom taught Jean
and I at Sunday-school as St Luke's church was just across the road
and my mom was the organist. Even back then faith and worship was the core of family life.
And oh those nice four daughters, especially Elsie and Rita who
oft times were over to our farm house helping mom with us younger kids.

Dear Steve/Judy and extended families and friends. Your Mom was a lady who loved Jesus and it showed though her daily life. She was always so welcoming. I had many many conversations with her over the 50 years I knew her. Dear family, your pain and loss is real but your mom is having the time of her life in Heaven. What a beautiful tribute to your mother,it partially captures who she was.I must confess I have been impacted by her death more than I anticipated.She is definately more than ' this nice old lady who died'.She impacted all she met and knew.Many a time my wife Lorraine would say,"I'm going to Elsie's for prayer" I suspect that they already have hugged each other.

We send our love to you all. So happy to have been able to be with your mom during the past year. Our last time together playing the piano as your mom played her keyboard and being able to sing for her was wonderful. We are always here for you all. Often we spoke to others and to each other of how we learned so much from her faithfulness to God and that trait certainly flowed over. A great woman of God and a blessing to family and friends.
