Obituary of Leona Eades (nee Horner)

Passed away peacefully in hospital, Shawville, Quebec on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the age of 96. Youngest daughter of the late Hugh and Florence Horner. Beloved wife of the late Grant Eades. Much loved mother of Ronald (Dixie Lee Lagasse) and Randy. Special grandmother of Ashley, Andrew, Christopher, late Michael and great grandmother of Olive. Dear sister of Iva (Gordon Armstrong) and Grace (Ivan Hodgins). Cherished aunt of Joan Armstrong, Hugh Hodgins and sister Wendy.

Leona was married to Grant in 1945 and lived on the Eades homestead and dairy farmed for 32 years, taught school for the Protestant School Board for 5 years. Moved to town, owned and operated Eades Boutique for 18 years. Volunteered at CAP and was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Radford.

Friends may call at the Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. where a chapel service will be conducted in the chapel of the funeral home. Private family interment will take place in Village Cemetery, Shawville, Quebec.
