Obituary of Velma Coles (nee Angus)

Velma passed away peacefully surrounded by family at hospital on June 26, 2023. Loving wife of the late Harry Coles. Caring mother of George (Jean), the late Joan (Wayne Brown), Judy (Steve Dobec) and the late Cindy (Mike Smiley).  Devoted Grandma of Lisa, David (Sam Twolan), Kaara (Richard Richardson), Krista (Kyle Fraser), Shawn, Ryan (Sarah Graveline), Cole (Mariepier Glaude).  Great grandmother of 11 and recently received the title of Great-great Grandma.

Velma will be greatly missed by her siblings, Norris (Marilyn) and Mona Robertson (Dave). Predeceased by her parents, Myrtle and George Angus, by sisters Merle (late Calvin Meunier), Georgina (late Bill Laframboise), Lorna (late Garry McCredie) and brothers William, Ronald, Gerald, Kenneth (late Beth), Mervin (late Lynda), Earl(Grace), David, Manson(Margaret) and Gordon(Henrietta).

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre St, Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, June 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Thursday, June 29 at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Village Cemetery, Shawville.  Donations to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or Friends of St Joseph’s Manor, Campbell’s Bay or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
