These pictures were at our house on Courtenay Ave. Our families grew up together at Brittania Yaught Club in the 60s
Ted and my sister Anne were close friends at Nepean HS as well. My sister paased in 76 but I had just said hello again to Ted a few years ago.
He was a great guy and looks to have lived an amazing life but too short. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends.

Dear Rebecca
I was a friend of Tedd from his York days.
We lived on the same floor at Vanier residence and through friendship Tedd introduced me to his passion of dance
His million megawatt smile, his eclectic style and clearly his innate sense of dance from those very early days all coalesced to make me sense Tedd was destined for great things, yet only on his terms. Not from hubris, but from his gentle kindness.
The fine art York days did not materialize in my life's work as filial responsibility called me into the business world instead; however, Teddy's influence remains in me to this day, whether in attending contemporary dance productions, noting a particular movement or even my lifelong love of Matisse are all testament to our youthful friendship and his teaching me to have deeper eyes
The best comment was the NAC comment: 'Dance on dear friend'
May we all remember that smile

Ps: interestingly, to see Tedd and I walked a Buddhist path a not so strange synchronicity

This is devastating news. We are so sorry to hear of Tedd’s passing. We love that man dearly. He will live in our memories as a uniquely creative, kind, generous, person with a Zen sense of humour. His performances and his mentoring enriched generations of dancers. We will never forget him, and we will dance with him for the rest of our lives. We know we will meet him again.
Here are some Chris Randle photos from his performances at the Vancouver International Dance Festival in 2007, 2014, and 2019.

Rest in Peace friend, mentor, inspirational force of nature. Your insatiable laughter and outlook on life had a profound effect on so many. It broke my heart to hear of Tedds' passing. I enjoyed having him for a neighbour these past few years. He was so easy to talk to and we had many roadside chats. He was very kind and caring (always looking out for my cat!) and he had a great sense of humor. I will miss his smiling face and the big wave we got if he was out when we drove by. It was a privilege to know him. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Tedd was one of my dance teachers in my professional training program in 1992. It was his citrus period I think, and in the performance he created I was to carry a lemon on my head. I remember many things he taught me then and in the years to come. Counting instead of thinking. Stillness instead of movement. I will always carry you dancing Buddha Tedd like a lemon on my head.
All my love to his family. We mourn his passing.

What a tremendous shock to hear of Tedd’s passing. I did not know Tedd in a professional nature and only saw some of his earlier works with the Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers. He was a part of our family while he was married to D-Anne and continued to be a thread woven through our lives as he was father to Rebecca. My last memory of him was at Rebecca’s wedding where he sat on the sidelines while we kicked up our heals on the dance floor. I finally asked him to dance and he got up like a shy school boy and “pretended” to be having fun being a “normal” dancer. I suppose if I had followed his professional career I might have been more intimidated but it seemed to me the father of the bride should dance and celebrate. He was jovial and always very mindful in his mannerism always respectful and kind. He will have created a void in the lives of the people who loved him but he has entered his own void and I am sure he is dancing with total abandon in the light. Sending love

To the family and friends of Tedd. We only just met this interesting fellow this spring as a neighbor, to get his permission to put a painting of his home (the old Elmside # 9 school) on a calendar our paint group compiled. Later I delivered a calendar to him and was gifted with a tour of the old school of which I am a former elementary student. I will miss his wave from his front step as I drive by. My sincere condolences. Edith Campbell

Condolences to the family. In past years, I have attended a few of Tedd's lovely show performances which he held in "THE BARN" located at Leslie Lake on chemin lac leslie in Litchfield Quebec, and will treasure those memories forever. He was a fantastic skilled choreographer and performer in the world of Performing Arts. Thoughts & prayers are with you all during this difficult time. God bless. Rest in peace Tedd.
