Obituary of Lorna Dagg (nee Palmer)
Lorna Blanche Palmer passed peacefully in her sleep at the Pontiac Community Hospital on April 16, 2022. Born September 24, 1924 in Shawville, Quebec, Lorna was the eldest of five children. She married the love of her life, Fred Dagg, on June 28, 1944 and they remained in the Pontiac for the rest of their lives, raising their family on the 9th concession in Yarm.
Lorna was very active in the community and was loved by all who knew her. Her many activities included being a long-time member and past president of the Idina Rebekah Lodge, Leader of the St. Matthew's Charteris Junior Auxiliary (J.A. Girls) Group. She was very active with maintaining the history of St. Matthew's Church as well as serving for many years on the Anglican Church guild. Lorna offered a catering service for several of the local auctions and she was well known for her cake decorating skills, offering masterful creations for many couples in the area. Her talents in the kitchen were endless, skills she passed on to all three of her sons.
Predeceased by Frederick Everett Dagg, her husband of 60 years, her son William, infant daughter Elizabeth, and grandson Marty, brothers; Beverly and Doug and sisters; Norma and Winnifred.
Lorna is survived by her sons; Gerald (Johanne) and David (Fong), daughter-in-law Sandra (William), grandchildren; Tammie (Greg), Brandie (Elmir), Danielle (Ryan), Jonathan (Sabrina), Shelley (Myron), Care (Fabian) and Lorna and great-grandchildren; Zion, Éamon, Charity, Frederick, Charles, Dalton, Dawson, Alex and Katie and her great great grandchildren; Lucca, and Everleigh.
Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Elaine, her chosen sons; Robert Jamieson and Patrick Martin and grandchildren; Leona, Amanda and Danny Lalonde plus the many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends, too numerous to include here, but all highly cherished.
