Dear David and family, I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. It is such a hard time for any of us even when we have been so lucky to have our moms so long. I remember your mother as being fun and kind and her pies, squares, and other delicious treats made many, many get togethers into real occasions. It’s a definite talent and she was so skilled with it. Please accept my condolences. I hope hearing from so many how admired she was makes this time a little easier. Sincerely, Cairine Coulis-Brown.

To my cousins Gerald, David and Sandra, our heartfelt condolences to you and your families. I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Lorna that there is not enough room on this page to mention them all. Aunt Lorna always had such a pleasant and calm demeanour. She was the coolest and calmest person I ever met. She certainly didn’t have that “Palmer temper”. Lol…. I will always remember driving up that long laneway into Uncle Fred and Aunt Lorna’s farm knowing that we would always be sincerely welcomed and I knew that we would be having so much fun playing with our cousins (especially at family reunions) and knowing that we were about to partake in not just a great meal, it would be a “feast”. I will also remember her great “wit”. A couple of years ago I called her and asked for her recipe for strawberry jam. She told me all the ingredients which including several cups of sugar, to which I said, “a friend of mine told me that she only used one cup of sugar”, to which she calmly replied - “Maybe you should use your friends recipe”….. Lol.
She also had such a great memory and of course she was known throughout the Pontiac for being one of the best cooks - for me it was her gravy and of course her lemon pie. My mother, Della, always thought the world of Aunt Lorna. I truly believe that this Easter was a huge celebration in heaven. RIP Aunt Lorna. Lloyd & Helen Palmer

Lorna was a beautiful lady inside and out. I admired her very much. She always looked "like a million bucks" when she went out! I remember, when Roy and I were getting married, she offered to do the icing and decoration on the wedding cake. It was beautiful! and when my Dad went to pay her, she said no, that it was her contribution to the wedding, because she was Roy's first cousin and she was so glad that he was marrying me! I hope she never changed her mind! Rest in peace lovely lady!

I've known Lorna for many years. Starting with Junior Auxiliary(for those who remember our group), Lorna was our mentor, teaching us many things, quilting, baking and serving at many functions in our community. I still have a cook book she gave me for my bridal shower. She always had a big smile and never blinked an eye to help someone or offer them food she cooked with love. He heart was so big and I'll never forget her. Over the last few years I've thought of her often. Rest in peace Lorna. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends. God Bless.

Lorna was one of the great matriarchs of Yarm. It was impossible to attend a bridal or baby shower in Yarm where there wasn’t a cake baked and decorated by Lorna. Lorna always knew everyone in the room and would remember details about their lives. If we visited Grandpa and Grandpa, either on the farm or in town, it was always a welcome to treat when we found Lorna visiting at the same time. She was always charming and fun. Two of my fondest memories of being with her were at a bridal shower she hosted for me and our trip out west for Uncle Wayne’s wedding when I was 14. Lorna was the life of the party on that trip. We had some great laughs! Rest In Peace, Lorna. Grandma will be glad to see you.❤️
