Obituary of Russell Rexford Wilson
Russell Rexford Wilson, age 92 of Shawville, Quebec, born May 1st, 1929, passed away peacefully at home on January 24th, 2022 at 1am, with his loving wife Theresa Goodall and daughter Evelyn Bishop by his side. His son, Emery Bishop, who is currently out of country was able to say his sweet goodbye’s via Skype.
Russell, the youngest of his siblings was born in Ottawa to Rexford Wilson and Eva Wilson. He joins in heaven, his brothers Wendell and Mahlen (Janet), and his sisters, Winnie (Emmerson), Evelyn (Kenny) and Beulah (Harold). He leaves behind many beloved cousins and other family members. Russell was known and will be remembered to be favorite Uncle to his nieces and nephews as well as to other town children to have known him (Belsher girls).
Dedicated long time farmer and school bus driver, Russell always managed to find time throughout his life and retirement years to enjoy his friends and family. He will be missed by long-time friends and neighbors, who always remained in his heart when he moved away from Shawville, Quebec to Ottawa, Ontario in 2016. Russell was an amazing husband and father who always gave his support, love and empathy to those around him. He could light up a room with his soft but genuine warm smile. His attention to detail of historical events as well as of his family memories remained precise and intact the entirety of his years. His last week a few friends and family were able to visit his side and help in his transition and let him know he made an impact in the lives of those who knew him and will be remembered fondly.
