Thinking of you Terry, and family. I have such happy memories of Russell. He gave me my first paid job, sweeping out his bus every evening for 10 cents! Russell and Wendall were so kind to let us pick all the apples we could carry. I seem to recall bringing in the cows too, I seem to remember that was a 5 cent job. They had the most interesting fields and cow paths. Russell was the first grown up, I remember, to have allowed me to call by his first name. All the black dogs too, with their characters gave the farm so much life! Happy childhood memories. xo

My condolences to Theresa and all the family.
I knew Russell as friend and neighbour from as early as I can remember. One of the worthwhile memories was when Russell and Wendell would team up with my grandfather Selisley and other neighbours along the McDowell Line that were still involved with cutting oats with a binder stooking and then drawing in to Bill Shephard's threshing mill. As a young fellow it was an exciting event. The few years that I was able to attend the farmers still involved were the Orla Young family, Joe and Perley Belsher's families
( lots of daughters ), and the Gerald Draper family. The day always ended with a big meal at the last home you were at.
Russell attempted to show me how to chew tobacco once. That was a good lesson on what not to take up!!
I'm glad to have known him;
Brent Howard

My deepest heartfelt sympathies to Theresa, Evelyn, and Emory. I always enjoyed my time with Russell and the family, he was the kindest man I've ever met. He never had anything harsh to say about anyone. His smile would light up the room. I'll never forget his jokes about living and working on the farm. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. My the God of Peace comfort you in the days to come.
