Obituary of William "Bill" Gilmour

Surrounded by family, Bill passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 22^nd 2021 at the age of 81.  He was the son of the late Gibson Gilmour and the late Reba Colbert.  Bill leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Linda, daughters Kim and Heather, who were exceptionally caring of their dad during his fierce battle with cancer.  Survived also by son-in-law Neil McMahon and four wonderful grandchildren, Kyla, Jaz, Sean and Anna as well as his fur babies Bella, Duke and Smokey.  Bill will be missed by his extended McCann family and his many friends.  Bill was a 37 year grateful friend of Bill W.  Over the past few years, Bill rekindled friendships, which he treasured, with colleagues from his days as a police officer with the Ottawa Police Force.  Bill was supported during his illness by many caring health professionals from the local CLSC and his family doctor, Dr. Pascal Croteau.  Bill’s family would like to invite family and friends to join them at his family home to share memories of Bill on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 4-8pm.  A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Quyon, Quebec on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 2 pm.  Reception to follow at Bill and Linda’s family home.  For more information contact the family at daisygilmour49@gmail.com.  Donations to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation, oncology unit or the Serenity Renewal would be appreciated.
