Dear Linda, Kim, Heather and extended Gilmour family,
I always thought of Bill as a gentle giant who had a kind heart and good sense of humour. I first met him during his time on OPD as it was called at the time. Later we crossed paths on the Hill and became colleagues. I appreciated his calm approach and decorum. May he rest in peace and my deepest condolences go out to you all.

Linda, Kim & Heather & all the McCann family this is a sad time & a huge loss for all of us.
Linda brought Bill into the McCann family & extended family & friends 50 years ago & ever since it has been Linda & Bill not one without the other.
That will continue because we can never think of one without the strong memory of the other as a team who enriched each other lives & All they came in contact with.

My Sincere condolences to Linda and the Family. Bill was a great guy and I am sure that you will miss him dearly.
I joined the Ottawa Police in 1965 and was sent to #2 Station after the training period. Bill was on my Platoon and soon persuaded me that it was a great place to work. We became good friends for those few years and then we lost touch with transfers, etc..
We shared the odd drink back in the day and he was a guy that I always knew would have my back.
Bill during breakfasts in recent years, and on Facebook, spoke often for his love for Linda and his family. I know he was a happy man and he will be missed by all.

Bill Gilmour has been our cousin through marriage and an acquaintance for about 49 years. But 10-15 years ago he became our friend. We will cherish the memories of boat rides at Uncle Tom’s cottage with Linda, Tom and Chris. The chats as we enjoyed a bonfire at the farm. There was the time we crashed Aunt Jeans all girls night at the farm. We will remember the day Bill and Linda arrived to help with the preparations for the Giant Barn Sale For Hospice with his new trailer loaded to the hilt! From one bus driver to another I especially enjoyed the tour of Bill’s Bus Collection.
Bill has left his mark and will be missed by many.
May He Rest In Peace.
