Obituary of Murray Ranger

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Murray Ranger on February 20th, 2020. Murray was 79 years of age and passed away peacefully in Campbell’s Bay, Quebec where he lived his entire life. Murray was a much loved son of his parents the late Hector Ranger and Jeannette Paquin. He was the second of five boys: Joseph (Kathleen), Billy (Helen), Robert (Diane) and predeceased by his brother Lenny. Murray will be missed by his four sisters: Helen (the late Dean Moodie), Rosemarie (Raymond Shea), Lola (Arthur Burnett) and Anne (Kelly Leclair). Murray was loved by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as great great nieces and great great nephews. He will be much missed by his cousins and all relatives. Murray was dedicated to his community. Over his lifetime he was a Councilor for the Municipality of Campbell’s Bay and played an active role in the Campbell’s Bay Lions Club. He was also involved in many sports. Murray coached women’s softball and broomball as well as volunteered in minor hockey and baseball. He leaves behind many friends. A funeral mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 160 Front Street, Campbell’s Bay Quebec on Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Campbell’s Bay, Quebec. Murray nous a quitté soudainement jeudi le 20 février 2020 à l’âge de 79 ans. Murray était le fils bien aimé de feu Hector Ranger et de feu Jeannette Paquin. Il était le deuxième de cinq garçons : Joseph (Kathleen), Billy (Helen), Robert (Diane) et précédé par son frère Lenny. Murray sera manqué par ses quatre sœurs : Helen (feu Dean Moodie), Rosemarie (Raymond Shea), Lola (Arthur Burnett) et Anne (Kelly Leclair). Murray est aimé par ses nombreux nièces et neveux, ainsi que plusieurs arrières, arrières- arrière neveux et nièces, ses cousins et toute la famille élargie. Murray fut dévoué à sa communauté de Campbell’s Bay. Au cours de sa vie il a été Conseiller municipal et membre actif du Club des Lions. Murray était également impliqué dans de nombreux sports : il a été entraîneur de balle molle et hockey-balai pour femmes, ainsi que bénévole avec le hockey mineur, et la base-ball. Il manquera à ses nombreux amis. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée le mardi 25 février 2020 à l’église St-Jean l’Évangéliste, 160 rue Front, Campbell’s Bay, Québec à 11h. Inhumation prendra place a l'avenir, au cimetière St-Jean l’Évangéliste, Campbell’s Bay, Québec. Des dons aux amis du manoir St-Joseph serait grandement appréciés.
