To all of Murray's brothers & sisters my thoughts & prayers are with your families in the loss of Murray.
Murray was absolutely unique ...one of a kind.....everyone knew Murray Ranger & Murray knew everybody ......& if he did not know you he would ask who you were........& he would put the pieces & family connections together and ever after that........ when he saw you he would.... stop...... and talk and he knew your family as well and he would ask about each of them & how they were doing.
Murray loved Sports & his Montreal Canadians..........I feel I have known Murray my entire life even though he was a lot older than me he always knew my name & would always yell out hello! how's it going...????
I remember Murray always at every sports event there was Murray... playing Hockey & Baseball and if he wasn't playing he was coaching kids younger than him in any sport going.
No one I have ever known was as outgoing...... as openly friendly.....as genuinely interested in everyone & everything.
I think Murray was loved by everyone who knew him.......whether He was at his best or when he was being very stubborn & challenging as only Murray could be........I have been very sad & can not stop thinking about Murray all week....he & the whole Ranger family have been constantly in my mind & prayers with all the memories of growing up in the Bay & all the years after * Murray is in all of them.......Murray I hope you know how much you were loved & appreciated for the out going friendliness you gave to every single person you saw without fail........I am sad..& I miss you already &..... always will till we meet again ...I am sure you will be there to greet me & everyone you knew from the Bay & area & Greeting each of us by name & saying Welcome.. ,,How's it going? Murray I second what my sister Lorraine said. You looked after us ensuring we got a ride to practice and especially the games. You pushed us to be a better player even when we didn't see eye to eye. To the Ranger family:
So many lovely testimonies! Each one expressing a memory of Murray as people remember him. My memory of him goes back to the days of the Top Hat.That Is how long ago I have known him.We occasionnally met In town and had a little chat and every day while sitting on my porch I would see the SUV with the big CH license plate turn the corner..And as he drove by, I would wave. It saddens me to think that he Is not here to see all these nice words..i just hope he passed knowing just how much people thought of him. To Murray’s Family and Extended Family,
We the McTiernan Family were so saddened to hear of Murray’s passing. Murray was Campbell’s Bay and loved his town, And we will miss having a chat with him on Main Street as he never failed to stop and say hi when driving by.. Murray touched a lot of lives over the years, he was very generous with his time. A trip to the Bay was never complete until you saw Murray drive by, in town or the back roads. He was my softball coach for 4 years, best memories of my teen years, and he took us on a trip to Quebec City which was also a highlight of those years. My sister says he coached her broomball team as well. I will always remember him taking the whole team in his big car to ball games, we won all four years I played. He bragged about his girls all over the Pontiac. He influenced a lot of young people in town to become volunteers and we took that with us to other communities, so many happy memories of that time! A life well lived.

Our hearts are heavy to hear the news of Murray’s passing. Campbell’s Bay sure will not be the same without that dark blue SUV, circling Lunam street on a few occasions per day. Murray always took the time to stop, have a visit, and inquire what we were up to. Seeing our children always brought a smile to his face, as it did to our kids. Although they are young, they too went to bed sad last night, knowing that we won’t see Murray anymore. Rest easy, Murray! Your town will miss you.

Our best memory of Murray would be from Main Street in Campbell’s Bay. We had docked our boat and walked up to the grocery store. While we were taking a break on the park bench Murray came along and stopped to chat. He provided some colourful local folklore and knew everyone who came by. A couple of other people joined us.
He has left his mark. People will talk about Murray Ranger for ever.

Murray was our softball coach when I was 16. He was tough on everyone because he wanted nothing but the best of all of us. He loved a good argument. His daily trips around town will surely be missed by young and old alike. He just loved to chat with everyone. Rest In Peace Murray. Condolences to his family.
