I am so deeply sorry to hear about Dale, he was such a good and very kind man. I know Dale through Hazel Kelley, he used to attend many of the parties we would have at my parents home in Aylmer. He would always remember things that were going on in our lives and ask us about it when he would visit. Dale will be missed not only for his kindness but for his good humour and great smile.

Be comforted in knowing that Dale was an institution in Shawville. He was the face of Fraser's Men's Ware and perhaps the Shawville Lions Club. As a teenager I purchased most of my clothing from him and listened to many an antidote of antics along Main Street. In 1965 I landed in Shawville from France. Joining The Lions club, one of the first members I met was Dale Thomson. He was a hard worker, dedicated Lion, gentleman, but always a great friend. He remained a good friend all these years,and will be forever remembered as a true friend.

Our sincere condolences to all our family. We are so very sorry for the loss of Uncle Dale. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. I so enjoyed his visits to Carleton Place with Hazel when my kids were still young. He was such a fountain of knowledge when it came to our family history. We so loved to hear the old stories of when him and dad were young boys. We have such dear memories of our trips to Shawville as children and of course over the last few years. Especially the trip we made with him to Calumet Island that was truly a special day. On another visit he made us chuckle when he was telling a story about a great uncle of ours that he said was "a little short in the grain". We had never heard that saying before but it made us chuckle for days. Goodbye Uncle Dale - thank you for the good times, the laughs and the heartfelt hugs!
