We have just heard of Fred's untimely passing. Very sad .We have done antique shows with Fred for many years and gotten to know him well. Fred and I spoke about hockey a lot. It was certainly a passion of his.. I got to know his sons who came with him to help or possibly to keep an eye on him at some of the shows. He spoke of his family, and grandchildren and his house and cottage in Quyon every time we met. Fred was always quick to help me or anyone with a lift of a heavy item at a show. Fred loved to sit around in the evening with friends or anyone else wandering by at the shows, reminiscing about shows and times gone by. He brought a large cooler of beer and liked nothing better than sharing a beer with others, regardless of the time. Judy got to know Fred well over the years and looked forward to seeing him at the shows. The antique shows will be sadly missing Fred this year. He represents the end of a bygone era in the antique industry.

John and I offer our condolences to Marilyn and the family. Fred was such a special man. Over many years our friendship in the antiques business was filled with fun, laughter and the serious side of life. I've seen Fred offer a dealer some of Marilyn's famous sandwiches because in the rush of getting packed and loaded they forgot their cooler. Always ready to help lift or move a big piece and be a good show neighbor. We all became like a big extended family. If you arrived on the field and got out of your van, there was Fred with a cold Blue. We will all miss him so much. Fred added a different dimension back in the days of collecting. Going to miss this giant of a man with the big heart. One of the best. RIP old friend. John and Jane Denton

My deepest condolences to a family who always made me feel like I was one of their own.
From the time he coined me the nickname "Red" 16 years ago, Fred was still the quickest to offer a handshake and a smile each time we met.
Whether it was a lunch break from Onslow spent in his kitchen, or a ride to an Atom-level hockey practice, the two short redheads always enjoyed each others company.
His hospitality is just one of the many reasons why he will forever hold a place in my heart.
