Way back in 1957 when we were at Teachers College together in Chapeau Loretta introduced us to "midnight dances". She invited a few of us from away, Val d'Or and Quebec City, to her parents' home for the weekend and we headed out to Lake Doré for midnight to dance into the wee hours of Monday. At that time dances were not allowed on Sunday, at least in this area. Needless to say we were not in the best shape for our 9 o'clock class Monday morning.

It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Loretta...Although it has been many years since I resided in Waltham I still remember all the great times of seeing the DUROCHER's downtown and as a kid listening to "the adults" chatting away while we listened in...It seems so many have gone now from my home town that in all likelihood I would not know very many that are left there from the years which have past since my days there. It is with that that losing one that I did know makes it even harder to know yet one more person who I knew growing up in Waltham is no longer there. All the very best to the DUROCHER and REID families at this time of their extreme sadness.
