Dear family of Father Mike,
The Memorial service for Father Mike in Quyon was special in many ways. I was so glad that I could attend. I have made a donation in his memory to St. Paul the Hermit's Memorial Restoration Fund. He will be greatly missed in the Sheenboro community. He was a lovely man and caring, dedicated Priest.

I am so sorry, the world has lost a wonderful man, but heaven has gotten another angel. Father Costello helped me through a very rough time while I was in the hospital 12 years ago. While my own minister didn't take the time to visit me, I saw Father Costello almost every day or every other day whenever he came to see someone else he always took the time to see me. I feel for your loss, I too lost someone precious to me, my husband Marcel Douaire, he passed on July 16, 2017

We really wish there were words to take away your suffering, but sometimes no amount of words are sufficient. Our condolences and prayers go out to Father Costello’s family members and friends. On living in the Quyon area we got to know him as a kind, caring and engaging person. We enjoyed his company and social gatherings at the rectory.
Take strength in knowing that Father Costello is no longer suffering. Although he is gone, he’ll never be forgotten. May his soul rest in the peace of the Lord.

For the 16 years Fr Mike was in Quyon, we shared a meal after Midnight Mass. How he loved sharing meals! He introduced us to the the Triple Crown races and every year in May-June we watched all three races, topping it off with a meal. It was thrilling when the three of us saw the last Triple Crown winner, American Pharoah, win all three races in 2015. Bob was Fr Mike's sidekick to all the Masses in the 3 parishes, lots of fun times and experiences together. He was loved by all. We miss him already.

Fr. Mike had friends throughout the valley on both sides of the river. He was a man who lived his vocation in every aspect of his life. He was always available to administer to people of all faiths, he was a true friend, an uplifting coworker, a wonderful priest. We are all better for having shared time with him. We got to know Father Costello when he looked after our parish, St.Louis de France in Chisholm Township Ont. We loved him for his huge heart and wonderful sense of humour.. The first time he was going to come to our house for a meal Mom asked him if there was anything that he couldn't eat or didn't like. He promptly answered her saying "I usually tell the Sisters if they have me in for a meal to just make an ordinary banquet.." I couldn't resist making a sign welcoming him to the "Ordinary Banquet Hall" which I put on the door for when he arrived. We all had a big laugh and he asked if he could have it to take to his cottage.We were blessed to have him in our lives and I know his family and friends will miss him so much.

Dear Family of Fr. Costello,
It is with sadness that we learn of Father's passing. Please accept our sympathy in your loss. We are lucky and delighted that we had the honour of having Father Costello preside over Christmas Eve mass 2016 at the Saint Theresa of the Little Flower Church at Fort William, Quebec.

And again many years later to bé the organist at St. Edwards and have Father Costello as our priest again. He was very kind to everyone and so generous with his time. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends. I was in his first class at St. Mary's Teachers' College. We all liked Father Costello so much. When he played goal for The Flying Fathers in Pembroke He had a whole class of cheer leaders in the stands behind him. The other priests teased him. He was such a nice teacher.

He was always so happy and cheerful and always greeted you with a smile. He kept in touch with the graduation class of 67, by attending our luncheons when possible. A great friend.
