Obituary of Ernest Adelard Dupont

Peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville, Quebec following a brief illness, at the age of 79. Son of the late Fleurette (nee St Aubin) and late Tom Bartholomew Dupont. Survived by his brothers Leo (Anita) and Oscar (Aline) and sisters Gisele Llanos (Marc) and Muriel Nadeau (the late Donat). Predeceased by his brothers Laurent and Marcel (Evelyn). Also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ernest was born in Timmins, Ontario and educated there and Theresa Mines, Longlac, St Boniface, Sherbrooke and Aylmer. His work took him to many cities in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba, as well as Africa. He was erudite and well read, a gentle soul and world traveller who loved photography, fine music and good books. Ernest had a wonderful sense of humour, and was never at a loss for a witty remark. Special thanks to the caring staff of Manoir St-Joseph, Campbell's Bay, and the ICU and Palliative Care Unit, Pontiac Community Hospital. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Campbell's Bay, Quebec. Interment St. Columbkille Cemetery, Pembroke, Ontario. In memory of Ernest, donations to the Manoir St-Joseph Improvement Fund would be appreciated.
