We are so sorry to hear this sad news! Your obituary said it best: Jack sure did have a special way with people. During my years at The Equity while Jack was mayor, he always had time for my questions, no matter how elementary they may have been. And he was always willing and patient to explain the back story of complex issues for me.
After I had long left the Equity, Jack still always had time for a chat and was genuinely interested in how you were doing. I sure won't forget him and how welcome he made this rookie reporter feel so many years ago.

I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Mr Lang.
I first met Jack in 2010. At that time, I was a young reporter at The Equity and Jack was one of the very first people I interviewed. In the few years that followed, I’d have many more opportunities to speak with Jack, as he fulfilled his roles as Mayor of Clarendon and volunteer on the Pontiac Agriculture Society Board of Directors.
Each time I had an exchange with Jack, he was courteous, kind and professional. Whether he was volunteering at the Fair, attending one of many community events or seated at an MRC Pontiac Mayors meeting, Jack conducted himself with his trademark integrity.
He was a wonderful individual and will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet him.

We were so shocked this evening to read on Facebook that Jack had passed away today. We have been in touch quite frequently on email and a few weeks ago, Jack led us to believe that he was doing well. We do hope that he didn't suffer too much as we never want that for our loved ones. Had we known Jack was so ill, we would have made every effort to come and see him.
We came to know Jack (and Elaine) through the Shawville Fair. We had a booth for many years at the Fair selling our Fifth Avenue Collection jewellery. Dealing with Jack was like a dream come true. He was well organized, always a gentleman, so pleasant to deal with and was always ready for us when we arrived with anything and everything that we needed. Of all the fairs and public events that we did, the Shawville Fair was always our favourite and it was mostly because of Jack. I am sure that if we had lived in the same location, we would have become great friends and seen Jack and Elaine a lot.
We send to you all our deepest sympathy. We will pray that you will be given the strength you need to deal with the coming days and the future without Jack. We also hope that you will eventually be able to look beyond his illness and remember the vibrant, fun loving wonderful man that he was. Hang onto the memories.
