Obituary of Elmer James Gallagher

Peacefully, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in his 90th year. Sadly missed and always remembered by his children Judy Stone (Dan), Karie McGregor (Mark), Tom Gallagher (Mark) and Sandy Black (Dave). Loving Grandpa to Suzanne and Jessica Stone, Adison and Paul McGregor, and Tara and Grant Black. Great Grandfather to Aaron Anderson and Harper McGregor. Dear companion of Bernice Battis. Elmer was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, parents Michael and Martha Ann Gallagher and siblings Earl, Eunice, MJ and Francis. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Vida Raymond and Loretta Reid as well as his many nieces and nephews who were an important part of his life. Elmer was an active member for many years of the Young at Heart Club, Chapeau and will be dearly missed by all of his lifelong friends on Allumette Island. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Todd Gauthier for his understanding, deep compassion and care for our Dad in his final weeks. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 56 rue St. Jacques, Chapeau Quebec on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be no visitation on the day of the service. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church. Interment to follow in St Joseph's Cemetery.
