Beth and Family. We are saddened to learn of Harwoods illness and his passing. We only knew Har for a short period of time while we wintered in Texas but during that time we became Banana Street friends. We will certainly miss his wit and his humor. Those we love don’t go away. I remember Harwood from Shawville High School days back in the 60's...I am glad that we were both Armitage's as he saved my skin a few times in the school yard !

Dear Beth and the entire Armitage family,
Our deepest sympathy to the entire family.
Harwood was a very special cousin to me. Growing up, we always knew when Harwood was in the Shawville area as Grandma would announce it as soon as we arrived for a visit. He was always teasing and joking but he also had the biggest, softest heart. He was there for me during one of my most difficult times and our relationship changed that day. What I wouldn't do for one of his big hugs right now.
We will all miss him greatly.

Beth and the Armitage family,
I grew up with Harwood as he lived on the street behind the Allen home in Shawville. He was a big, tall, strong and GENTLE boy and a loyal friend. I have special memories of the days when he owned a white Volkswagen fastback. It's been years since I last ran into Harwood, probably at the Shawville Fair. It saddens me to learn of the death of a childhood and teenage friend. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
