I only met Mr. Horner twice at Valu Mart, when he approached me and we talked, he had given me a CD then, one that he had made. I have enjoyed it tremendously and sing along, it has brought me a lot of happiness. I am so sorry for his passing, he seemed to be a fine man and I'm sure will be missed by many. May God hold you in his arms and give you comfort during this very hard time.

My dear Norma, I just learned of Hugh's passing and wish to add my voice to the chorus of heartfelt condolences I'm sure you have received. You know how dearly I loved your husband and always enjoyed his teasing of you with his chicken plans. I spent so many precious hours at the farm and in your kitchen over the span of a dozen years or so and the boys and I are so grateful to have known him and you. Your table and Hughie's coop were a haven for us. We kept up our friendship through the years and I will sorely miss him. Please give my regards to everyone in your families and my prayers are with you. We are currently on our boat in the Gulf of Mexico, growing a little garden in 5 gallon pails and I'm sure Hugh could find a spot on board to raise a chicken or two if you would give him permission! To the Horner family - what a great obituary for a great man! We laughed and cried as we read it. Your family has definitely inspired many to journey with Jesus. Our hearts are sadden to think of how much Mr. Horner will be missed by his spouse, family and friends. We take such comfort in knowing that this is not the end of the story. It is just for a while. The legacy that this family has made in the world is still unfolding but so rich in faith,character and laughter. A cousin a father figure and dear friend.I became morley's care giver. I went through some difficult times..these times were made easier by seeing or receiving a phone call from hugh.my husband has been battling prostate cancer for ten years. Most forget as years go by. Not hughie.last time we seen him we told him we loved him and he replied'and I love you"..his path to heaven will be paved in gold. I only met Hugh a couple of times but he left on me an impression as "one of the good ones." I got an insight into the wonderful, warm, loving Horner home with breakfast at the farm. It is one of my most treasured memories of spending a summer with his son and future daughter in law.

This was such a shock. Hugh is going to be missed by so many...My first thought when I heard he had passed away, is that Dad is rejoicing in Heaven...His best friend has joined him. I hope Heaven can handle those two. Hughie always had a story, whether it was true or not...that is what we loved about him. I am sad but I also rejoice because he is in Heaven exactly where he wanted to go and lived his life accordingly. My thoughts and prayers are for you Norman and the family.
