My belated condolences to you, Mary, Stephen, Joy, Mark and families. I was ill before Christmas, then dealing with Dad's decline and death on Jan 10th and had never taken the time to add my condolences on the loss of Laird. Please forgive me. This was a terrible loss. What a gentle-spirited man. I did not know Laird well, but his gentle spirit did strike me as a child when I visited your church with the McCaig family and in your home.
Though this loss is great and I feel deeply for you as I mourn the loss of my Dad now, I hope that great memories of him will comfort you and that the knowledge that he is in heaven, strong, healthy and whole, will help you as you grieve his loss.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of the Home Going of my childhood friend, Laird Hamilton..
As a young 'Preachers kid' growing up in Shawville, I experienced on numerous occasions the warmth of welcome in the Hamilton farm home - and the joy of my friendship with Laird.
Although the opportunity of interaction over the ensuing years has been all too infrequent, I have followed with interest Laird's involvement in leadership in church and community activities
My thoughts, prayers and condolences are extended to the Hamilton family as we rejoice with you his Graduation To Glory! - WELL DONE - GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!

Dear Mary and Family,
Our hearts ache today for you as you walk through the Valley of Death's Shadow. Praying for you as a family that you will experience the ministry of our Shepherd who accompanies you through this valley, using His shepherding tools to minister to your hearts as He does.
When you feel drained and depleted, He will lead you to restful and refreshing places so you can be renewed [Ps. 23:2]
When you are discouraged and maybe even bordering on being sad and depressed He will restore your soul [Ps. 23:3]
When you are disoriented and not sure which way is up, or which way to turn He promises to lead you in the right direction, in those narrow paths of righteousness for His name’s sake [Ps. 23:3]
As you walk through that deep, dark valley over which death has cast its shadow, He will use His Shepherding tools to remove that dreadful sense of fear and to bring comfort and encouragement to your hearts. One of His right-hand men wrote these words about our Lord – “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness ….” His Shepherding tools include His Word, His Spirit and His People – all of which He uses to bring us through the valley with a sense of … "I’m not alone, He is with me and leading me each step of the way" [Ps. 23:4] and helping me focus on the hope He provides [Ps. 23:6].
