It is with shock and sadness that I read that my friend Emily has passed away. I am so happy that I enjoyed a lovely visit with Emily when I went to the fair in September. Emily hugged me till I thought my back would break. She insisted that I stay to see Amber and her Great-Granddaughter, Gillian. Emily was all decked out ready to go to the fair that she enjoyed. Emily exhibited her delicious baking, preserves, vegetables, and flowers for many years. Emily grew up as a neighbour of my Grandparents. We'd go to Johnny Dagg's for threshing where we always knew there would be delicious pies. Then Emily married Neil McDowell who lived across the road from us. I had always run over to Dwight and Lil's and now it was Neil and Emily's. They soon had a baby. I had so much fun with baby, Frances. Emily was our hair stylist. She was a hostesses for a shower when I got married and for many other 7th line girls until finally in 2009 another shower for Allan's fiancé, Tamara. Emily hosted many Aloette shows for me and was a wonderful customer. Emily's tea biscuits were always the hit of any party, bake sale, or fair. Rest in peace Emily.
