Obituary of Cecil McTiernan

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cecil on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by wife Moira (nee Wylie), mother Sadie Horner, father Raeburn McTiernan, sister Marjorie (Borden) and sister Mazie (Frank). Cecil is survived by his sister Ethel (Neil Hodgins) and numerous nieces and nephews from Alberta, Manitoba and Ottawa. Cecil was a great brother and uncle. He loved to play hockey in his younger years and then later he loved watching the game. Cecil's second love was to go fishing with his Dad and close friend Neil (some good fishing stories were told).The family would like to thank Margaret and Neil Sharpe for all their help looking after Cecil. Thank you to all the staff and doctors at the Pontiac Reception Centre for their care. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery. Reception will follow in the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Pontiac Reception Centre would be appreciated.
