If someone were to ask me to discribe the character of Laurent Lamadeleine, I am proud to make the following comments. He was a man who loved his wife Lucille who together raised six of their own children and half of the kids in Bryson because of their strong belief in family. Together they set an example of what being a parent is all about. They did this as a personal sacrifice and unconditional love for children.
Laurent was a soldier, a farmer, an entrepreneur, a mill worker, and for me he was my mentor. At a time when I was making the decision of my life by going into policing, he supported me and expressed confidence in me when many others did not. For that I owe him my gratitude. For many years I was also proud to call him my father-in-law.
To Lucille and to all of those who would call him dad, I want to express my sincerest condolences. Laurent leaves this earth knowing that he made a big difference in the lives of all who knew. May he rest in peace.
