Obituary of Maye Howard

Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Medex Center on Baseline Road in Ottawa on May 15, 2016, Elizabeth Maye Piché-Howard, formerly of Bryson, Quebec, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Delbert McTiernan by first marriage and the late Stephen Howard by second marriage. Dear mother of Thomas John McTiernan (Jeanne Godin-McTiernan) and step-mother of John Howard of Vineland, Quebec. Dear sister of Laura (John Elkin) of Ottawa, Violet Broome of Foresters Falls, Ontario and Anita Johnston of Bryson, Quebec. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Burgess of Charteris, Quebec. Much loved grandmother of Laura-Maye McTiernan (Adam Racine) and Christopher McTiernan (Deanne Clara) and great-grandmother of Holly and Kieran Racine of Aylmer, Quebec. Step-grandmother of Erin Howard (Michael Mitchell) of Niagara-on-the-Lake and a special aunt to Susan Elkin-Rainville of Orleans, Ontario. Maye is survived by many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank all the wonderful staff and volunteers at Extendicare Medex for their devoted care of Maye, and their moral support to the family. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery, Shawville. Donations to the Valentine Centre, Campbell’s Bay or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
