I had the pleasure of working with John for many years. He was indeed a great man and a friend to many. I spoke with him a very short time ago, when we were both at Bernies for a haircut, he told me he was on his way out, however, I never thought it would be this quick. I got to know John well while working for The Equity. He was always a great interview, although it took me a while to figure out which stories were true and which weren't! Even years later, John always had time for a chat. He's part of my good memories I have of my time in Shawville at The Equity. I'm glad to have known him.

Christmases won't ever be the same again at the Boutique. John would come in and terrorize the place, while I wrapped Marion's gift. He always had a loud comment when I occasionally came to church. I will miss his friendly smile and incessant teasing. A good man has left us but Heaven has gained another one.

Marion and family, I'm so sorry to hear about John. I do remember sitting on "Santa"s knee over many Christmas seasons, and of course in more recent years, hearing his funny and familiar banter at the Lions draw during the Fair.
