Obituary of Jamie Belair

June 9, 1979 – January 11, 2016 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cherished son, Jamie Belair, at Elisabeth Bruyère, Ottawa, Ontario. Jamie left us too soon, but his journey fighting the rare Appendix cancer was one of raising awareness about it. Survived by his loving mom, Anne Stanley and step-dad, Alex Levesque, brother, Marc Belair and a supportive and caring extended family, especially the siblings of Anne and Alex and their families. He touched and was touched by many friends far and wide, especially his good friend and “bro”, Yanick, and an inner circle of remarkable friends who rallied and supported Jamie unconditionally. Predeceased by his father, Omer Belair, his Mémère, Bertha Belair, grandparents, Jean and John Stanley and Uncle Johnnie. Special thanks to the Ottawa General Cancer Units, Staff and Directors, Carefore, Bayshore Clinic, and especially the Bruyère Palliative Care Hospital, 5th floor and the Foundation for helping to fulfill a special wish- the Ottawa Citizen interview, the staff and many Facebook friends. As per Jamie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. A special gathering will be held sometime in the near future with family and friends, to reminisce and celebrate Jamie’s life.
