Obituary of Robert Miller

(R&R Farms, Transport Canada, and many airlines) Peacefully at the Shawville Hospital with family and friends by his side, following a brief illness. Loving partner of Ron Hodgins, loving son of Jean Balazs (Al) and the late Thomas Metcalf, brother of William (Robin) and special sister Charlene. Loving uncle to Jennifer and Lisa and many great nieces and great nephews. Robert will be sadly missed by many friends and co-workers. After a long career with several airlines, Robert joined Transport Canada as a Civil Aviation Inspector. He will be fondly remembered by the local community of Shawville as part owner of R&R Farms with his partner Ron and was a regular face at the Saturday morning market selling produce and flowers. Having travelled all over the world, he found his true pride and joy here in the Pontiac. Robert moved to the Shawville area 11 years ago and quickly became an active member of the Pontiac. He enjoyed hosting farm tours and took great pride in showcasing the farm where he lived. Friends may call at the Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 25 from 12:00 -1:45 p.m. Funeral Saturday to Shawville United Church for Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery. Donations in memory of Robert to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit, would be appreciated.
