Obituary of Maudie Mason

After a life well lived Maudie passed away peacefully at the Centre D’accueil du Pontiac in Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, February 26th, 2015 in her 96th year Maudie passed away with her daughter-in-law, Olivette (St-Aubin) Mason by her side. Born in Hamilton, Ontario May 12, 1919, she was the beloved wife of the late John Mason Sr. and the loving mother of her only son, the late Gary Mason. She was lovingly known and forever cherished as “Ma” by her grandchildren John (Jennifer Sloan) and Joanne (Ryan Wood) and her two great-grandchildren Keira and Garrett Mason. Her heart of gold, bright smile and contagious laugh will be missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to join Maudie’s family during visitation at the Hayes Funeral Home in Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 from 12to 2 p.m. Liturgy of the word will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Spring interment will take place at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Hamilton, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Centre D’accueil du Pontiac.
