Obituary of Verna Armitage

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Verna Watson-Armitage, passed away peacefully at the Shawville Hospital on February 5, 2015. She was born December 24, 1927 and is predeceased by husband Harland Armitage. She is survived by her four children – David (Louise), Robert (Marc), Donna and Diane (Guy); as well as her by her brothers, Gerald, Leonard (Cathy Dunbar), and sisters Eileen (Garry Storey), Lois (Bob Smith), and Freda (Ted Hoppin). She is predeceased by her parents William and Violet Watson (Stewart), sisters, Claire and Laura (late Douglas Wickens), brothers, Irven (Mary Montague), Harold, Lloyd and Bill. Verna enjoyed many years alongside Harland contributing to her community through her membership with the Adina Rebekah Lodge and the Oddfellows Lodge # 40. Friends may call at the Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Friday, February 6 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, February 7th from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7th.
