Obituary of Raymond Nelson Gardner

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond Nelson Gardner of Petawawa, Ontario on July 9th 2024 at the Pembroke Regional Hospital.

Ray was the youngest son of Eugene and Lodevine Gardner of Pembroke, Ontario.

He will be dearly missed by his one true love of 48 years, his wife Diane Gardner (nee Chaput), his son James Gardner (Jennifer), his daughter Jodie Malone (Chris) and his three beautiful grandchildren Jadyn Malone, Colton and Landon Gardner.

Ray lived a rich life full of love and support. He positively influenced the lives of many who interacted with him. His big heart and willingness to help others showcased his desire to always put others before himself.

His passion for music, woodworking, fishing and spending time with Family were what brought him the most joy.

Born and raised in Pembroke, Ontario Ray spent many volunteer hours in the community. After a 40-year music career playing bass, entertaining many across the Ottawa Valley and beyond, he would volunteer countless hours playing music in senior residences. He saw the value and connection many have to music and gave of himself selfishly in those instances.

Ray always knew the value of hard work and providing for his family. He would often put the needs of others before his own, selflessly. He felt drawn to always help others and be a guiding light.

He will fondly be remembered by the many lives he positively influenced.

May you be greeted by angels on the highest and be guided with love to your final resting place.

A Celebration of Raymond's Life will be taking place on Saturday, July 20th at Raymond and Diane's home in Petawawa from 1 to 4 p.m.

May you rest in peace, until we meet again.

"A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered"

Love your family,

Diane, James and Jodie.
