Obituary of Edward "Ted" Ambridge

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Ted Ambridge, who left us on Saturday June 1, 2024 at the age of 81.  A beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Ted was also a frequent comedian who always knew how to make us laugh.

Born on December 31, 1942 in Ottawa to Frank and Winona Ambridge, Ted lived a life full of entrepreneurship with Ambridge-Thompson Ltd manufacturing down-filled ski wear, travel with Sandra while operating a Cruise Holidays franchise until retirement in 2018, and perhaps his favourite of all, enjoying the river view from the deck at his cottage in Norway Bay.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Sandra (Villeneuve), his children, Don and Scott, grandchildren Nathan, Miles and Octavia, son-in-law Joel and daughter-in-law Belinda. Ted has now joined his brother David and daughter Samantha for a glass of red wine and more laughter in the life after this one.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 12 to 3 pm at the Ambridge cottage located at 91 River Road, Norway Bay, Quebec.  In honour of Ted’s unique spirit, we ask that attendees bring smiles, stories and memories.

Ted will be laid to rest where his heart is, in Norway Bay.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Canadian Cancer Society, or simply raise a glass of Merlot or a forkful of New York Strip in Ted’s memory.

Though we mourn our loss, we are comforted by the many happy memories and hilarious moments Ted blessed us with.  Gone but never forgotten.

Rest in peace, Ted.  You will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
