Obituary of George Coles

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of George Davis Coles on Monday, February 12th, 2024 in hospital, Shawville, Quebec in his 73rd year.  Beloved husband of Jean (nee Eckford) for 46 years.  Predeceased by daughter Julie-Lynn. Devoted father of Lisa and Dave (Samantha Twolan). Cherished Papa of Kaylee, Lawson & Jett. Son of the late Harry and Velma Coles and predeceased by sisters Joan (Wayne Brown) and Cindy (Mike Smiley). Survived by his sister Judy (Steve Dobec).

George will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.  

George was a proud member of the agricultural & hockey communities and was very involved in the Shawville 4-H, Pontiac Agricultural Society and numerous roles with various teams of Shawville Hockey.

The family wishes to thank the Renfrew Dialysis Unit, The Hull Hospital and Dr. Smith for their dedicated care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Renfrew Dialysis Unit or the Shawville 4H Club. 

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Shawville United Church at 11 a.m.  Reception to follow.
