Obituary of Catherine Phelan

Peacefully with her family at her side on December 28th, 2014 at Marianhill Nursing Home, Pembroke, ON in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Philip Phelan of Chapeau, Quebec. Daughter of the late Josephine St. Martin and Francis Longpré. Cherished mother of Martin (Lorna), Mary (John Smeltzer), Patricia (Chris Kavanagh), John (Kim), Frances (Bryon Milliere) and predeceased by son Willie (Cathy). Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Survived by sister-in-law Kathleen (Clarence Turner) and brother-in-law Joe Duquette. Predeceased by her siblings Lawrence and Emerita, daughter-in-law Hilda, and sisters-in-law Margaret Duquette and Sister Mary Alphonsus. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 56 St. Jacques Street, Chapeau, Quebec, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday, December 31 at 11 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 106 St. Jacqueline St., Chapeau, Quebec. Interment Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marianhill Memorial Fund or Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation MRI fund would be appreciated.
