Dear Diane
As you know, my friendship with Al stretches back almost 60 years. He came to Bryson to play in the band at our hotel and never left! And, of course, he met and married a beautiful hairdresser from Calumet Island! He was like a big brother who helped me when I started playing the guitar, taught me how to tie a necktie, lent me a really cool suit to wear to a high school dance, and used to let my brother and I drive his 1957 Chev around Bryson even though neither of us had a driver's license. Over the years we worked together as bartenders, musicians, and electricians (me for him and years later him for me). We will all miss him terribly.
I hope that you are able to find some comfort in your fond memories of him.

I remember when he arrived from England and moved in with us in our little apartment in Ottawa he looked so cool with his Elvis hair and his guitar he used to take me to his band rehearsals I still play music to this day he was a huge influence on me when I was young I took up the bass guitar because Of him he's always with me when I play he was my hero and an awesome uncle and friend we lost touch over the years but I never forgot him Love to auntie Diane and family I will not be able to attend I am 3000 miles away but my heart is with you all love Tony

Diane and Family:
Sharon, and I wish to extend our most heartfelt sympathies for the loss of a husband, a Dad, and a Grampa; Al.
I have fond memories of Al, as well as thanks for his kindness, and thoughtfulness.
We worked together tending bar at the Bryson Lodge way back when. Hard work however, we still found moments of fun and memories were made. Many evenings, Al would bring Corey, his first dog to work with him. Beautiful dog, very protective of Al yet she became a friend of mine (and Diane).
And, of course there was his love of music and playing in the band.
Through Al’s thoughtfulness and consideration, I got my start in an electrical career leading eventually to a master electrician credential. I thank Al for that start.
Lean on your family and friends during tough times and remember how much you are cared about.
