Obituary of Shelley Martineau

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Shelley Martineau on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the age of 53 after a fierce battle with cancer, as she was surrounded by her family and lifelong friends at the Gatineau Hospital.  Shelley is survived by her two children Vanessa and Johnathon, who made up the entirety of her world, that she was known to protect ferociously like a mama bear.  She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Cheryl, nieces Ashley and Amy, her god daughter Stacey, and grand-dog Journey.  Predeceased by her mother Margaret and baby brother John.  Shelley had a big heart and made a lasting impression on everyone that knew her.  She was a dedicated employee of Giant Tiger in Shawville for 26 years and will be greatly missed by her customers and co-workers for her humour, fiery personality, and how she wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Shawville Hospital for their tenderness and compassion throughout the years and the team at the CLSC for making it possible for Shelley to stay in her home, with her family, during her battle.  Additionally, Dr. MacLellan and the personnel at the Lotus Clinic.
