Obituary of Irene Black (nee Patris)

Irene M. Black passed away in the early hours of December 3, 2023 and rejoined her husband William “Bill” H. Black. Irene was born in Minto, New Brunswick and moved to Shawville to teach school in the early 1960’s. After moving to Shawville, Irene met her late husband Bill, had love that a person can only dream of and were blessed with one son, William “Bill” A. Black. The many titles Irene had throughout her life include but are not limited to: teacher, mother, Nanny and great-Nanny. Irene impacted countless people’s lives and will be missed.
Irene is survived by her son, Bill, her grandchildren Hayley, Joshua, Kelsey, Francia and Diego as well as two great-granddaughters Cadence and Adalyn. 

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Funeral service will follow at Shawville Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m.  Donations to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
