They say time heals all wounds and using one of mom’s favourite quotes “ I beg to differ”-the wound of our loss runs deep and the hole that remains can only be filled with memories of our time together. Mom was a loyal person and always ready to help if she thought she could. As she would always say she “ didnt have her tongue in her pocket” though and was never afraid to remind us that she knew how to take care of herself. Mom knew what she wanted and that was that. Mom had the ability to put her personal feelings aside and take care of things according to what was right and decent regardless of adversity she would have to face while doing so. She always strived to do the right and decent thing. Mom did not have an easy path in life; she suffered through many traumas and most times suffered in silence keeping her pain to herself. But she was a survivor and when trying to pass on her wisdom to her children could often be heard saying “ that which does not kill us makes us stronger”. Mom was a loving devoted daughter, Nana, GG and friend who loved her family and cherished moments spent together with those close to her. Mom was full of wisdom from lived experiences and was always ready to listen and offer up some of that wisdom if she thought it would help. Mom was creative and artistic but did not realize her gift of painting until later in life and like everything she did or accomplished, was self taught. Mom was spunky and tenacious. She was headstrong in making things work as she refused to believe there wasn’t a way to make something happen if she had vision.
We remember the blessing of having her in our lives and will very much miss her presence on this plane.
