Obituary of Roy Beattie

It is with heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Roy Grant Beattie in the Shawville Hospital on November 1, 2023 at the age of 76 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Bristol, Quebec son of the late Grant Beattie and Elsie Tubman.  Husband of the late Barbara Bryenton.  Survived by wife Betty-Ann Bannan.  Loving father to Grant (Tracy) and Ashly (Zach), step-father to Phillip Bannan.  Loving grandfather to Kylie, Jacob and many step-grandchildren.  Brother to Grace (late Kenneth), late Earl (Marlene), late George (Ann), Ruby (Bill), Rosetta (Bruce), Evelyn (late Bill) and Chesley (Marlene).  He always had a special bond with cousin Paul.

Roy had a great love for fishing and the great outdoors.  Took great pride in everything he did.  He had a passion for heavy equipment, working with his hands, welding, wood working and many others.  He will be fondly remembered for his long chats at the pit loading trucks and keeping the 148 safe in the winter.

Special thanks to all the nurses and staff for their care and kindness towards him in his last days.
