We met Kendyl when she came to stay with Blair, Laura and the 3 cousins, Emma, Connor and Bradley. We got to know her as we babysat and visited as the nana and papa in the family. Watching Kendyl join in the fun and adjust to a busy family we saw a special little girl. We have thought of her and prayed for her during her illness. Sending sympathy on behalf of the Monteith and Marden families to Cheryl, Pat and extended family.

I am at a lose for words. Kendyl was a blessing to all those lives she touched, especially mine. I feel lucky to have spent two years with Kendyl. Kendyl always showed her classmates kindness, fairness and of course how to be silly. Kendyl had a great sense of humour and a beautiful smile. My life has forever changed from getting to know her. My sincerest condolences to Cheryl, Pat and family. Rest in peace little one.

I pray that you find solace in all of the ways this beautiful little girl brightened the lives of all she came in contact with. Cheryl and Pat,
I am so very sorry for your unimaginable loss. There are simply no words to express how grief filled your hearts must be or that will help to take that weight away. Hold tight to your memories and know that your love for Kendyl is exactly what she needed. To the rest of Kendyl’s family, please accept my sincerest condolences.
I was one of the fortunate ones who had my heart stolen and blessed by your beautiful daughter. In our relationship, which became a friendship, I was the “teacher” but it was Kendyl who was able to teach me to see the beauty and simplicity that God intended us to see. We laughed and learned and then laughed some more. Her quick wit and dancing eyes kept me on my toes. The circumstances that brought us together, and ultimately separated us, seem unfair, and so many other adjectives but, the joy and impact of Kendyl’s spirit will be with me for the rest of my journey.

While I never got to meet Kendyl in person, I grew to love this extraordinary, remarkable, beautiful young girl as I got to know her through the eyes of my dear friend and Kendyl’s “Nana” Jan. She captured my heart with her beautiful smile, her sense of humour, her love of animals, and of her family and friends. She inspired so many of us with her courageous journey. Thru her Nana Jan in Sudbury who shared many stories and pictures of her beloved Kendyl I felt the spirit of a very special little girl. In the pictures that Jan shared Kendyl always had such a big smile which showcased those huge dimples. In her short life she touched not only the lives of her family but so many others ... she will not soon be forgotten.
