Obituary of George Bedard
George Eugene Bedard, born January 24, 1923, died June 30, 2023, at 100 years of age, while in the long term care of Wakefield Memorial Hospital.
After starting his career with Gatineau Power in Temiscaming, Quebec, George was transferred around 1968 to the Paugan Dam in Low Quebec and retired from there in 1988 at age 65.
George is survived by his daughter Peri (Wayne) and son Donald; and grandsons Matthew and Adam Kerr; also nieces Nancy Duncan Quinn and Danielle Bedard.
George joins his wife Elsie, sons David and Paul; also siblings Estelle McDonald, Gertrude Duncan, Fred Bedard and John Bedard, who predeceased him.
A celebration of George's life will be held at Bells Corners Royal Canadian Legion, 4026 Old Richmond Rd, Nepean, ON, on Thursday July 13, 2023 from 3 to 7 pm.
Donations in memory of George Bedard may be made to the Wakefield Memorial Hospital, Wakefield, Québec. The family wishes to thank the staff of the long term care unit for their compassion and care.
