Our condolences to everyone back East. I feel so grateful that all my relatives back East had the opportunity to meet their great grand nieces and nephews. Aunt Maureen was the kindest and thoughtful person, her and Aunt Helen always let us stay at their place when ever we went back East to visit, when I was a child. She will be missed.

I worked under the guidance of Miss Morris in the 1980's, as a staff member at the Pembroke General Hospital and I found her to be the kindest, quietest, and most respectful "boss' I had ever encountered during my nursing career, having worked in different institutions across the province, I'd had a good few "bosses", but none like her.
When she would ask you to do a double shift, a short change or come into work on a scheduled day off... you just couldn't say "no" to her.
She treated everyone the same... with kindness and respect.
May her soul Rest in Peace.

I had the privilege of having Maureen as a teacher and a role model who exemplified the perfect nurse, guiding us through our three years of training at the Lorrain School of Nursing in Pembroke, Ontario. She was an inspiration to all of us showing us we could avail ourselves of lives filled with possibility. In my case, this inspiration brought me to a non-traditional heath career and the achievement of a Master of Education from the University of Toronto. Possibility thinking. Thank you Maureen!

My mom, Laura Gleason Brennan was Maureen's godmother. They were great friends, neighbour's and grew up together in Sheenboro. She was a beautiful lady and nursed at the Pembroke General Hospital when I worked there in housekeeping. She was always kind and always had a smile for everyone! She will be missed by many in Sheenboro.
May she rest in peace.
