I deeply regret that we did not get a chance to meet, especially since I see in his obituary notice a line saying that he never threw anything out. It is apparent that we would have had many things in common!

It was my great pleasure to have had Ronald as a trusted friend . I first met Ronald on the ice and permit me to say he was a formidable hockey player . It was always better if you were on his team instead of playing against him . He was successful in all aspects of his life , be it family , business , community activism or sports . The last time I spoke with Ronald was a few months ago when I visited him at his business in Fort Coulonge and he was the same as always , very upbeat , very kind with his compliments about others and never wanting to talk about himself . Ronald Soucie was all class, all the time !! May my friend rest in peace.

That eloquent caption of Ron's life is so perfect and so fitting. It describes a remarkable man with a big heart, completely devoted to his family. I spent a day with him and Carol a few months ago, and almost every word he spoke was in praise of others, not himself, but others. This speaks volumes about his character. Rest in Peace Uncle Ron. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. I have had my share of hockey games against Oiso and old boys on Tuesday nights. I will forever remember him always doing the sign of the cross before stepping onto the ice and his old style helmet. I had great admiration for his passion and skill. Tocson and I would often say, if we can still be doing that at when we get to be that age.. we’d be doing alright.

We bought a golf club car for my brother (who was epileptic and could not drive a vehicle) from Mr Soucie and he made sure he had all the information and of course updates that were available, which made my brother so happy. I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Ron's passing! He was a remarkable man who had time for everyone. Big hearted, kind, friendly are just a few words to describe him. How I fondly remember spending lots of time at the Soucie house and always being made feel like one of the family. Fort Coulonge has lost a titan, and his likes will not be seen again.

Dear Carol, Micheline et Danielle et la grande famille de Ronald Soucie, mon oncle.
J'ai de beaux souvenirs de lui quand il a demeuré chez nous pour un été pour travailler avec mon père sur le champs de construction dans le domaine du chauffage et plomberie. Ma mère, sa soeur Freeda, cuisinait pour toute la famille.
Il me recevait toujours bien quand j'arrêtais lui rendre visite au garage et au foyer. Il me manquera beaucoup. Nous sommes près en âge alors pour moi il est Ronald, le Ronald avec bon coeur. Que Dieu te bénisse et protège ta famille.
