Obituary of Denise Richardson (nee Lance)
1941-2022
Denise Richardson (née Lance) passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Claude Richardson. Loving mother of Lee, Elaine, Lorraine, Maureen (Todd), Jim (Loretta), Jeff, Richard (Kaara) Ronda (Scott), baby boy (stillbirth). Proud and dedicated grandmother of Salin, Sherri-Lynn, Curtis, Rachel (late), April, Amy, Vanessa, Corey, Krystal, Courtney, Lisa, Jesse, Erika, McKenna, Landen, Chloe, Julia, and Ryder. Loving great grandmother to Jesse, Cheyanne, Kayla, Precious, Aiden, Taj, Lexie, Summer, Miguel, Maika, Loik, and Riley-Maddyson. Dear sister to Myles (late Gisèle), Lloyd (Julie), Maureen (Douglas), Betty (Hank), Rosalie, Doreen (late William), Armos, the late Eric, the late Archille and the late Gary (late Suzanne).
Denise loved the simple things in life, sitting in her rocking chair, listening to her favourite hymns, and attending Sunday morning worship at Bristol Ridge, where she was a faithful member. But nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Nanny R or Nan, as she was known to most, played an important role in the lives of her grandkids. She didn’t just spend hours rocking them as babies. She was a proud cheerleader at their music and dance recitals, skating shows and graduations. She was a taxi driver, meal provider, a shoulder to cry on and a prayer warrior for them.
Although we will miss our cherished mom and Nan, dearly, we take great comfort that she has received her ultimate reward… life everlasting, with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
The family would like to thank Dr. MacLellan and the staff at Pontiac Community Hospital for their care over the last few years. Special thanks to Trish, Ali and the rest of the ER staff for their compassionate care during mom’s final hours.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by a Chapel Service at 1 p.m. Reception to follow in the funeral home.
