Marie was like a second mom to me my entire life (and to my sister Laurie). We were always greeted with cookies and other tempting treats, and she always had open arms. Having a cottage beside Marie was wonderful and she really made Norway Bay comforting for us. Our families celebrated many Thanksgiving holidays and Christmas holidays when we were younger. I will miss this wonderful woman - and I will never forget her laugh being warm-hearted, sincere, and full of joy. It was a hearty laugh that always gave me joy when I heard it - like the winds coming off the Ottawa River at Norway Bay. I will never forget this wonderful soul.

Sweetest Marie....you will forever stay in my heart. You added so much joy to my life. I will miss you immensely. I loved our time outside watching birds and smelling the flowers. You shared with me
many stories of your time at the cottage. You so loved making that trip to Norway Bay with your dearest Lisa. You made me laugh and cry. Your smile lit up a room. I love you all Macfarlane-Fasching family. Thank you for sharing Nana with me. I am heartbroken but I know that Marie is at peace now. Goodbye Marie...til we meet again.

I was honored to call her Mom for the last 30 years. Last December I asked her how she was doing and she said, "I'm really enjoying right now a lot more than I have in a long time"... She yet inspires me to live in the present moment! I love you Mom rest in peace
