We’re so sorry to hear of Iris’ passing. She was so special to us, always kind and caring to our family. Our sincere condolences to her whole family who were so loved, as we could see by the photos everywhere in her house! She always loved talking about all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren!

To all the families of dear Iris. What an amazing lady, neighbour and friend. She lived everyday fully and with pride. I sure do miss seeing her in her garden, walking to Joey's (Joyce Burton) her dearest friend, for supper in the evenings. Many a time with a pot of supper and a flashlight in hand. I would offer her a ride and she would always decline with thanks, and assure me she was quite alright to walk herself. I also remember going and picking up her special strawberry tarts that she made for the Sand Bay Survivors annual bake sale at the beach. The last year she made them for us, she was concerned they did not look as pretty as what she made previous years. I assured her, they looked very yummy and would taste just as good as always. She was indeed a real gem, kind, gentle and very social. I am sure she is filling Melvin, Joan and Joyce in on the happenings of the bay and all her friends at the home. God bless you all that shared 96 years with this wonderful little lady. Katherine and John Hynes
